Brick and peyote are the same offset, rotated
Peyote and brick stitch both produce a fabric where alternate rows sit half a bead out of line, which is why both use offset chart paper. The difference is orientation: peyote rows run in the direction the beads are strung, brick rows run across it. In practice a peyote chart turned ninety degrees is a brick chart, which is worth knowing when you find a pattern in the wrong one.
Beads are wider than they are tall
A round seed bead is a slightly flattened doughnut, wider across than it is deep through the hole, and the cells here reflect that at a ratio near 0.85. Charting on square cells makes the design come out vertically compressed once woven, in the same way a knitting chart does. The ratio is adjustable, so match it to the bead you are actually using rather than the default.
Increases and decreases live at the edges
Brick stitch shapes by adding or dropping beads at the row ends, and that is where a chart earns its keep. Draw the edge profile before the interior pattern, because a design centered on a straight-edged assumption will sit off-center once the shaping starts. The peyote sheet is the same grid for the other orientation.
Printing it accurately
This only measures correctly if your printer doesn't rescale the page. In the print dialog set Scale: 100%, not "Fit to page" or "Shrink oversized pages". If you're not sure it worked, print the calibration page, measure the ruler on it with a real ruler, and it will tell you exactly what your printer is doing to the page.
