Bigger squares, same proportions
A 2 mm band is a demanding target. An adult learning French cursive, or a child at the beginning of it, will write better against a larger version of the same system than against a correctly sized one they cannot hit. This sheet uses a 12 mm square, so the guide bands are 3 mm rather than 2 mm. Every ratio is preserved, because the whole ruling derives from the square: the body of a letter still occupies one band, ascenders still rise through three. What you learn here transfers directly to a standard sheet, which is the point of scaling rather than inventing a different ruling.
The vertical lines are off on purpose
The verticals in Seyes exist to help with spacing, alignment and mathematics, and on a page devoted to letterforms they are visual noise. Cursive is a horizontal, connected motion, and a grid of vertical lines crossing every letter fights that. They are one checkbox away in the generator if you want them back, and you probably will once the letterforms are steady and you move on to writing paragraphs.
French cursive is not American cursive
Worth knowing before you practice the wrong thing. The letterforms taught in France differ from the Zaner-Bloser and D Nealian models used in American schools, most visibly in the capitals, and French instruction places much heavier emphasis on the letters being formed to a fixed height against the ruling. That is why the paper carries guides that American cursive paper does not. If you are working from a French manuel, this is the sheet that matches it. If you are working from an American workbook, use the American sheet, because its dotted midline is placed for a different set of proportions.
Printing it accurately
This only measures correctly if your printer doesn't rescale the page. In the print dialog set Scale: 100%, not "Fit to page" or "Shrink oversized pages". If you're not sure it worked, print the calibration page, measure the ruler on it with a real ruler, and it will tell you exactly what your printer is doing to the page.
