College ruled paper
College ruled at the standard 7.1 mm (9/32 inch) spacing — about 33 lines per page, versus 27 for wide ruled.

Six more lines per page
The only real difference between college and wide ruled is 1.6 mm of line spacing, but across a page that is six extra lines — roughly 20% more writing per sheet. Over a semester of lecture notes it is a meaningful saving in paper and in bag weight.
Who it suits
College ruled assumes handwriting that has settled into an adult size. It is standard from high school onward in the US and is what most refill pads default to. If your writing still touches both lines on wide ruled, stay on wide ruled — cramped writing is harder to read back, which defeats the point of taking notes.
Print both sides properly
For double-sided printing, select "Flip on long edge" so the lines register front to back. If they are offset, writing on the reverse sits between the show-through lines from the front and the page looks doubled. It is a small thing that makes home-printed paper feel bought.
Printing it accurately
This only measures correctly if your printer doesn't rescale the page. In the print dialog set Scale: 100% — not "Fit to page" or "Shrink oversized pages". If you're not sure it worked, print the calibration page, measure the ruler on it with a real ruler, and it will tell you exactly what your printer is doing to the page.
